One more film that relies heavily on cell phones is Abbas Kiarostami's "The Wind Will Carry Us." Whenever the main character's cell phone rings, he has to run to his car and drive to the top of a hill in order to get a signal strong enough to hear it. It becomes almost a running gag -- and may be the most memorable thing about the film (which is not my favorite Kiarostami, though still worth a watch).
