Hi All:
At the hospital where I currently work as a consultant in an epidemiological study on Arsenic toxicity, we are planning to set up a formal clinical epidemiology unit. For ths, we need to make a presentation before a group of faculty members (all clinicians) justifying setting up of a formal clinical epidemiology unit.
The question: is there evidence that setting up of a formal clinical epidemiology unit (in a setting where already some epidemiological research is going on with some external funding) in a teaching hospital can lead to improved outcomes or lead to improved quality of care?
Some suggestions? References?
Looking for words of wisdom from the group,
-Arin Basu MD MPH
