Precisely. Although fully conscious patients are supposed to be able to
protect their airways, I'm not sure if they can do this effectively if
they've just vomited while restrained in the supine position! As I said
earlier, it's a difficult area to get real "evidence" on, but I suspect
there are case reports (i.e. anecdotes) of aspiration in this situation...
