We are soon to launch a self-service reservation function on our web-based
OPAC.
Can anyone who has experience of this provide any information on the volume
of requests received via this path? How many did you get to begin with,
how quickly did it build up etc?
Also how many authorities make different (lower) charges for requests
placed like this as opposed to 'over the desk'? Does this make any
measurable difference in the number placed?
(I know you do this in Suffolk, if you are reading - any views or info
would be gratefully received...).
Finally, can anyone separately identify and count the number placed on
library OPACs as opposed to the number placed via internet access away from
the library?
