Introduction to the PC - Manchester - cost 45 pounds
This course offers a basic introduction to the PC particularly aimed at the new or
inexperienced user. Topics covered include, the physical components of the PC, an
explanation of some PC jargon, the Windows environment, Windows conventions, an
introduction to the Windows filing system.

Presentation skills - part 1 & 2 – Manchester - cost 130 pounds
This highly participative course is designed for staff who occasionally have to make
presentations to small groups or will have to do so in the future. The aims of the
workshop are to, present some ideas of good practice, provide practical guidance on
how to make effective presentations, develop individual style and confidence. This
course has an excellent reputation and is suitable for staff with no previous experience
as well as those who wish to develop their skills.

Managing meetings - Manchester – cost 85 pounds
The course aims to give participants the skills to contribute effectively in meetings as a
participant or as the chairperson. Topics covered include, assessing why meetings fail,
the stages of planning a meeting, taking minutes / action notes, the role of the
chairperson, helpful and hindering behaviours, following up actions from the meeting.

Managing part time and contract staff – Salford – cost 45 pounds
This half-day session will look at what can sometimes be a complex area of
employment law. By the end of the session delegates will be able to, explain the
definition, formation and constituent parts of a contract of employment, describe the
differences between permanent and temporary employees, identify the potential
pitfalls when managing temporary employees and have explored, via case studies,
differing issues relating to temporary employees
