The Health Sciences Portfolio within the Continuing Professional
Development Centre in the Department for Continuing Education seeks to make
2 appointments; - Associate Academic Director and Portfolio Manager.
The portfolio provides both short courses that help professionals to update
and develop their skills, and a Postgraduate MSc in Evidence Based Health
Care. The courses attract clinicians, researchers, health managers and
policy makers from an increasingly international base.
ASSOCIATE ACADEMIC DIRECTOR
University Lecturer: Salary Range £22,191 - £35,845
The Associate Academic Director will assist the Academic Director with the
academic management, delivery and development of a range of courses for
health professionals. He/She will have the opportunity to teach on the
existing programme, develop the curriculum (including contribution to on-
line activity) and new courses to meet new needs. The successful candidate
will have a combination of educational, research, management and
entrepreneurial skills and experience of working as part of a team.
Knowledge of healthcare systems, both on national and international levels
will be needed.
PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Academic-Related: Salary Range £21,125 - £27,339
The Portfolio Manager will work within the Health Sciences Team. We seek a
creative and entrepreneurial person with relevant qualifications and
practical experience to undertake the administrative development, marketing
and delivery of self-financing courses, workshops and conferences within
the Portfolio. Candidates should have substantial experience in organising
and promoting innovative ventures along commercial lines. Willingness to
work collaboratively and flexibly is essential.
Appointments for three years in the first instance. 38 days' annual
holiday, including 8 Public Holidays and 5 days at Christmas. University
pension scheme available. The Department is committed to developing the
