medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I was just reading Iain Macleod Higgins' "Writing East"... during his discussion of the author (s) of Mandeville's Travels (which Higgins doesn't call Mandeville's Travels) he touches deftly on the question of what is a "book" and what is an author... his notes to this section cite Foucault among others. These references might be a good place to look.
