Here in Medway, as part of our People's Network project members of the
public can videoconference between Walderslade library and Chatham library.
This is not wildly exciting. Our friendly IT person says that if there was
a central ILS (Internet Locator Service) server somewhere in the country -
hosted by Resource? - then any public library with the right equipment could
videoconference with any other public library. This would be a major step
forward, in my opinion. Does anybody know of discussions in this direction?

Subject: Video Conferencing
I'm wondering what other authorities are doing with video conferencing in
their People's Network implementation.
We are thinking about piloting it in our Learning Centres and have some
ideas around it but we are no further on really.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
Thanks
Helen
