medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear listmembers,
again I call upon your helpful [collective] omniscience. I know (I
think) that Inn IV gave cardinals the right to wear the "red hat": but
why and since when have cardinals been associated with the color red?
And by the way, is it just cardinal-bishops who got to wear the hat, or
card-deacons etc too?
Many thanks in advance for any help.
TGD
