medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I can think of one book offhand that discusses medieval concepts of
madness. My apologies if it has already been mentioned:
Doob, Penelope. _Nebuchadnezzar's Children: Conventions of Madness in
Middle English Literature_ (New Haven, 1974)
Less valuable with regard to medieval studies but still interesting is:
Saward, John. _Perfect Fools: Folly for Christ's Sake in Catholic and
Orthodox Spirituality_ (Oxford, 1980)
Brian Vander Veen
