Following the query on disability policy, it may be useful to know that the
Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals
(CILIP) has recently produced Equal Opportunity guidelines, covering library
and information services to:
disabled people
for deaf and hearing impaired people
for people with a visual impairment
organising meetings,courses and conferences (bearing in mind disability and
other social inclusion issues)
They outline legislation, service delivery and good practice and further
sources of information
A guideline on Sexual Orientation and Libraries is also available and
further guidelines on social inclusion related issues are planned.
