For several years (and still running?) the Parish Maps Project encouraged
communities to produce just this sort of thing in various media. There's
probably a website enabling Elizabeth Passey to choose a parish - hence the
desired landscape(s) and likely flora and fauna - and contact it/them.
Often the parishes reproduced the wall-size end-products as posters and/or
post-cards as a more permanent souvenir (and as a marketable, fund-raising,
commodity!). Slightly removed, Jill Rock (FRGS) "works with found objects
and maps" to produce art works inspired by them; she held an exhibition here
in June last year entitled 'Gaia - an artist's perspective'.
