Hi everyone,
This message is to draw your attention to the session entitled:
"Tectonic inversion processes and structural inheritance in mounmtain
belts" (session G23.2) covened by Mario Grasso (University of Catania), Rob
Butler (University of Leeds) and Enrico Tavarnelli (University of Siena),
as part of IGC32 to be held in Florence, Italy (August 20-28, 2004).
We hope to attract scientists working in the broad fields of collision
tectonics, basin inversion and fault reactivation in ancient and recent
orogens, with the aim of encouraging discussion on the influence of
inversion processes during mountain building. Contributions based on field
studies at different scales, geophysical investigation and analogue
physical modelling are welcome.
This call-for-papers is higly preliminary. The organizing committee will
select the proposed symposia based on the number of returned preliminary
questionnaires that have expressed interest. It appears that unpopular
symposia will be deleted or merged with others. The deadline for submission
of the preliminary questionnaires is August 31st (today!). Therefore, if
you plan to attend, you should return your questionnaire immediately!!! To
do so, please visit the web site at: http://www.32igc.org
Considering that an end-of-August deadline happens to fall in a period when
many people are off, or just coming back from field seasons or holidays, we
hope that the organising committee will consider the possibility of
extending it slightly.
We look forwards to receive your contributions to our symposium!!!
many dear cheerings
Mario Grasso, Rob Butler and Enrico Tavarnelli
