The Centre for Global eHealth Innovation, University Health
Network and University of Toronto, is organizing and sponsoring a
workshop as part of the Second International Conference of the
International Society for Equity in Health, Toronto, 14-16 June
2002.
The workshop, entitled 'Digital Inclusion: The Role of
Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to Reduce
Inequities in Health' is aimed at identifying main challenges and
key research questions in the field of ICTs applied to health and
health care, in order to contribute to the definition of an
equity-oriented global research agenda to serve policy making and
advocacy.
The workshop, intended for an audience of researchers, will take
place on Sunday, 16 June 2002 from 9 am until noon at the Medical
Sciences Building, University of Toronto, Room 3153. The Medical
Science Building is located at 1 King's College Circle, east of
Queen's Park and south of College.
Confirmed workshop facilitators include: Dr. Hamish Fraser of the
Children's Hospital Informatics Program, Harvard Medical School,
and The Clinical Decision Making Group, MIT Laboratory for
Computer Science; Dr. Victor Neufeld, Professor Emeritus of
Medicine and Epidemiology at McMaster University, Hamilton,
Ontario; and Ms. EunRyoung Sa, a member of Dr. Ron LaPorte's team
at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Public Health,
involved in the coordination of the Internet-based Epidemiology
'Supercourse'.
