A lot of the products available in the marketplace do not offer
full integration with existing systems as they rely on a range
of data imports and exports and manual interactions. We can
implement these products but they are never fully integrated as
they create a need for multiple copies of what is supposed to be
core and definitive data. In some ways they could even be seem
as undermining your institutional strategies and compromising
the validity of centrally stored Institutional data and
reporting mechanisms.
Bearing this in mind do we accept that true integration is not
possible at this stage and make allowances in the systems that
we construct?
Do we accept that IMS and its various attempted implementations
has not delivered and cannot be expected to deliver in the
short term (3-5 years)?
Regards
Paddy
