Tackling social exclusion is fundamental to the government's current
strategy for improving the quality of life in the UK.
For public libraries, this is included as one of the key areas of assessment
in the Annual Library Plans.
There is an opportunity for us to learn about social exclusion in Swansea on
Thursday 13th June.
The afternoon session by John Vincent (who is a regular provider of CILIP
study days) on social exclusion will be a real opportunity for us to
understand the concept of social exclusion - and how the library sector can
be involved in tackling social exclusion.
The role of the library assistant will be addressed in the morning.
Brief details of the event are as below, please contact Neil Smyth
