Has anyone got collections of fiction in the languages used by current
asylum seekers?
We have requests for Albanian, Polish, Russian and Czech, but also have
Romanian, Kurdish and Georgian speakers that I know about.
As most of the people seem to be with us for a short time it's probably not
worth us buying, especially as there seems to be no way of letting other
authorities know what we do have. I have a copy of the elderly list of
fiction in foreign languages collections but when I tried this last year
no-one was still holding them.
(I've just realised a fatal flaw in having one collection per language -
the readers would move around but still get the same books!!)
