Dear list members
concern has been expressed that some emails are being posted to the
lis-pub-libs mail list which do not address the purpose for which the list
has been set up. I'm keen that people join the list, and am therefore
concerned if members start to feel swamped (oops - its that word again) by
inappropriate emails, and (worse case scenario) leave the list.
I am therefore sending a gentle reminder regarding the purpose of the list
and some basic 'etiquette' regarding the sending of promotional emails....
*lis-pub-libs is a forum for discussion of the issues arising from
implementing the Internet in public libraries. An opportunity for advice and
experiences to be exchanged*.
*Promotional messages should only be posted if they are related to the
subject or purpose of that list, and are likely to benefit or interest list
members. The sender of a promotional message must seek the permission of
the list owner before posting.*
[For your information - only members of the list can post messages,
non-members cannot].
Many thanks for your co-operation. I hope you all continue to enjoy being a
member of this list, and gain benefit from sharing your ideas and knowledge
with other members.
