Martyn

May I put this information on the Knowledge Base section of
www.europe.org.uk (the official site for the Network of European
Information Providers)? It's the sort of things many network members get
asked. I would, of course, credit you and link to your site.

Regards

Subject: European/International" theme days/weeks

Dear All

You may remember (or not as the case may be!!) that I sent an email to
Eurotalk Members before Christmas 2001 mentioning that I was producing a
list of "European/International" theme days/weeks organised and supported
by
the European Commission and other international agencies most notably the
UN.

The main purpose of this list being that it may be helpful to organisations
who may wish to "tie in" local events to relevant European/International
activities.

In some cases the EU is the main initiator of these activities but mostly
the impetus for these activities derives from other organisations, usually
with EU acting as a partner/participant. This is particularly true of the
"International Days/Weeks..." which have been usually established by the
various agencies of the UN.

I have attempted to provide links to individual Internet Sites providing
further details but in some cases this has not been possible!

This is very much a "work in progress" I would expect to be updating\adding
to this list on a regular basis and place it on an Internet Site!!!!

Any further contributions would be welcome.
