Dear Ms Dodds,
I would be very grateful if you could offer any advice on the following
very specialised matter. Can you tell me, please, whether Belgian maps
of the world produced between 1890 and 1900 (or so) marked British
possessions in red, Belgian in yellow, French blue and German purple?
British atlases used this colour-coding for a long time; I am told that
this colour-coding was international; and I simply seek confirmation that
the same conventions were therefore used in Belgian maps. (I'm editing a
novel which refers to this matter.)
Many thanks for your patience.
Cedric Watts.
