Following Elaine Bimpson's retirement last Christmas, the Society is now
advertising for her full-time replacement. Details are as follows:
GEOLOGICAL SOCIETY
MAP LIBRARIAN
A qualified librarian is required to work full time in the Library of the
Geological Society. The successful candidate will have responsibility for
the day-to-day administration of the map collection, including cataloguing
maps, collection development, and provision of a map enquiry service.
Previous experience of working in a map library, including cataloguing maps,
is essential, together with good interpersonal and organisational skills.
Appropriate subject knowledge plus an aptitude for IT would be an advantage.
Starting salary within the range £19,726-£25,419, including London Weighting
of £2,651, with 25 days annual leave and season ticket loan.
