Access to Music Resources in an Online Environment - Developing the Resource
A joint Conference supported by:
Music Libraries Online, ENSEMBLE, ENCORE,
CECILIA, British Library, IAML (UK) and Music Libraries Trust
We are pleased to invite you to attend a one-day joint conference at the
British Library Conference Centre on Tuesday 26 March 2002.
This important event arose from a common agreement by the sponsors of the
need to brainstorm the outcomes of many projects and other initiatives, and
to build a collaborative framework in a web-based environment for access to
Music resources. A model for the development of a UK Mus NUC - a UK
National Union Catalogue for Music - is proposed, to benefit user
communities across many sectors.
The keynote address and summary will be given by Clive Field, Director of
Scholarship and Collections at the British Library. Other speakers will
represent the sponsoring projects and interest groups - which themselves
already possess much cross-representation.
The registration fee for the day is £25.00 and includes lunch. To book
your place please print out the attached registration form and post / fax
back to us by Friday 15 March. The full programme and registration form
will shortly be available on the MLO web site at http://www.musiconline.ac.uk
Please direct any further queries to Sarah Farthing, Library Development
Officer, University of London Library, at 020 7862 8415 or by email at
