Jim, as I said, I published on the question as long ago as
in 1966 and, for the definition of oblate, relied, I think, on
Genestal's old monograph as well as Reicke's history of German
hospitals. In fact, are oblates really religious technically? I
can't remember. Besides, my guides were old monographs, however
excellent they were. John
