medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I do believe this leads more than a little away from the purpose of the medieval-religion list, so I will merely point you to the documentation. Please note that my statement said that the sexual revolution (not the women's movement) of the 1960s was rooted in eugenics of the 1920s. Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, was a well-known eugenicist,as were many of her circle. Ironically, the great symbol of capitalism, John D. Rockefeller, whom she initially attacked bitterly, indeed, called for his assassination, became her chief funder, also out of neo-Malthusian and eugenicist principles.
See E. Michael Jones, _Libido Dominandi: Sexual Liberation and Political Control_ (South Bend, Ind.: St. Augustine's Press, 2000), particularly part II, ch. 8 and part III, ch. 9, 11; and Jones, _John Cardinal Krol and the Cultural Revolution_ (South Bend, Ind.: Fidelity Press, 1995)
I must underscore that other factors also caused the 1960s sexual revolution, but without contraception it could never have taken place.

I'm quite as interested as Richard Landes by Father [Dr.will do; I am not a priest] Martin's
analysis. John Mundy
