I think the use of the internet to book locums and
access your "favourites" availability is a good idea.
In my unit this is precisely how we do things
consequently it is much easier to assess how many are
available etc.
I use the same "I'm likely to be available to do this"
system using my online diary with the A/E unit where I
work.
Check out Robbie Coull's web site for details on his
method - he has this down to fine art , especially
when it comes to his being booked for locums and it
would be nice if all locums could follow suit. It
makes things easier for us all. You can see at a
glance cost, availabilty and a short summary of
qualifications and equipment. It really is excellent
The internet is probably one of our most powerfull
tools to use in this capacity - it's nice to see an
expansion in it's use.
