Dear Zooarchers,
Many thanks to all people who have let us know their opinions regarding
the type of settings to adopt for our email list. The outcome is that we
have an almost equal number of people in favour and against the change
of settings!
We have therefore decided that we will leave things as they are, which
means that if you hit "reply" your answer will only reach the sender,
but if you hit "reply to all" it will go to the whole list. By keeping
this system we will have a little loss of information, but, on balance,
this seems to us to be the best choice.
From time to time we will send a reminder of how the reply system works.
A couple of people have raised the point that they do not fully
understand how the list functions. We would therefore like to remind you
that you can find quite a few details at the following web page:
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/ZOOARCH.html.
Here you can also consult the archives of the list (i.e. all messages
since we started can be found there!). Should you have any other query
you can contact us at: [log in to unmask]
Finally, we would like to take the opportunity to remind everybody that
attachments should not be sent to this list. Please, refer to a web page
or send a general message mentioning what kind of document or image you
have available and send it individually to whoever expresses an
interest.
With best wishes,
Umberto and Jacqui
