We are currently getting a VLE up and running and are planning some
online DL courses.
Does anyone have any figures for expected time to create course
material? Something along the lines of number of hours work to create 1
hour of online learning material. Thus, if we had a course proposed that
should take 5 hours online learning what sort of figures culd we use to
allocate resources for the creation? I know this depends on type of
material and how it is supplied, but there must be some general
guidelines and experiences.
Figures from the NLN where 300 hours of material taking 7-9 people 18
months to create. We have also started to experiment with our own
authoring tools.
