A bit too far for us to come from the South Coast but, having recently
installed Blackboard we are very interested in discussions with other FE
users and hope that someone will be passing out a summary of pertinent
points after the event. We would also be interested to know of the
formation/existence of a user group.

> We are writing to invite you and your colleagues to our 'WebWeek', to be
> held at Newcastle University in the week of 1 - 5 July 2002.
>
> We will be holding a series of lunchtime seminars on the theme of on-line
> learning, specifically "Blackboard Experiences in and around Newcastle".
> In the first instance, this will be an opportunity for Blackboard Users to
> find out what colleagues in other Schools, Departments and Institutions
> are doing with Blackboard. There are a significant number of Blackboard
> users locally so we hope that participants will exchange experiences,
> expertise and ideas within the wider community. In addition, the issues
> under discussion are very generic and we feel that even if you are not a
> Blackboard user, problems, solutions and success stories are valuable,
> irrespective of platforms or technologies.....
>
> Speakers include lecturers and teachers from the following institutions:
>
> - University of Newcastle upon Tyne
> - University of Northumbria
> - North Tyneside College
> - City of Sunderland College
> - Gosforth High School
> - Newcastle LEA.
>
> There is no charge for this event and light refreshments will be
> available. You will find more information, including a list of speakers
> and an expression of interest form at:
