But I never asked whether VLEs were here to replace traditional
teaching. I was contrasting the utility of RBL with that of a VLE, a case
for the use of both being the difficulty of managing large numbers of
students. The VLE isn't here to replace the lecture (unless it's distance
learning) but, yes, provides back up, and is a better back up, I was
saying, than bad RBL, which provides few avenues for the kinds of
communication a VLE can facilitate. I think we, er, agree then. ;-)
