Internet Projects Officer, Learning Unit, Science Museum, London
£16,300 - £23,904 (per annum) inclusive of £600 Recruitment and Retention
Allowance; 2 year fixed term contract
The Learning Unit at the Science Museum develops and delivers a range of
educational events and resources designed to enhance visitors' learning and
enjoyment. The Museum is actively exploring other ways of working online
with existing and potential educational audiences.
Current projects include the collaborative STEM project
(http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/education/stem/), and its sister project
the COMO project, the innovative NotSchool.net project and the Science
Learning Network (http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/education/sln/).
The Internet Projects Officer will work primarily on externally-funded
projects employing new educational technologies, particularly the Internet.
The role will include developing relationships and activities with
educational users, especially schools and colleges, and supporting software
use.
You should have a good relevant degree, experience of using the Internet,
some teaching or other relevant educational experience and ideally
experience of running or contributing to professional development activities
for teachers and/or events for students. You must be an effective
communicator, familiar with information and communication technologies and
be able to demonstrate familiarity with the educational role of museums.
The closing date for applications is 27 May 2002. It is anticipated that
interviews will take place at the Science Museum on Wed 5 June
