I thought the poor.old. tired. horse was just telling me how much Nietsche
the master concrete poet had read.
Well, there you go.
as said, I don't 'like' such terminology much, but it does perhaps have its
uses. I do wonder sometimes.
My favorite essayist is Guy Davenport (well, one of my favorites), partly
because he can discuss the most recondite and erudite texts in a prose
whose clarity and verve just amaze me. A 'pleasure' to read, and yet so
much learning taught too. Some do seem to think that they must make their
prose pan (or is that 'a pain') or it cant be truly serious.
Wish I had the right ear (& knowledge) for such a fine joke, sorry to be so
dumb Martin...
