I hope it doesn't sound too much like advertising to mention that the biennial
"research into practice" conference examines art and design research as both a
"professional" and a "doctoral" activity. The next conference will be this
year: 5 July 2002 at University of Hertfordshire, UK. Further details on the

I hope that we (the community) can communicate about events and dates to avoid
clashes. As it happens a conference in 2003 will fall neatly between the 2002
and 2004 "research into practice" conferences.
