Ahem ..
At the cost of taking the context sensitivity issue into the domain of
classifications ( which does produce knowledge doesn't it?) -
1) I have been doing this piece on the methodological construct in design
and do find it(the generic construct) wanting. Especially in areas of
sensitivity to society. Having said that no design can be created in a
vacuum so it is all about society. However when we are discussing the
process of design based on an articulated theory of design we do not find
much that is people initiated ; the usage of this term refers to the
desire to be non presprictive as the correct way to be both politically
and as a stance against the coercive construct that is mass industry.
2) And interestingly ( like in all matters but those dealing with intimate
human relationships) the software designers seem to have stolen the march.
In this site (http://www.usability.cerco.com/trump/index.html/) I see that
the first step in the design process is listed as a stakeholders meeting.
Very interesting. Time to set aside evolutionary design methodologies I
guess. And so enters the context.
