Aslib IT&C group are organising a visit to the Science Museum and the
Museum's Library of the history of science and technology, 25th April
2002.
The Science Museum Library has an international reputation in the
history and public understanding of science and technology. Their
collections form an enduring record of scientific, technological and
medical change since the eighteenth century. Founded in 1883, the
Science Museum Library forms part of the National Museum of Science &
Industry. Over the last decade there has been a period of substantial
change for the Library in which they have had to reassess their role,
both initially and in the light of experience.
The Science Museum needs no introduction. The visit will incorporate a
tour with the CIT and telecommunications curators giving you a special
insight into some of the Museum's collections.
The visit will start mid-morning at the Science Museum Library followed
by a tour of the Science Museum in the afternoon. No charge. Lunch is
not included, attendees can use the Museum restaurant.
Places are limited, reserve your place by contacting: Stanley
