Dear All,
One of the questions I could not answer at my talk last week on weblogs
was "What LIS weblogs are there on the web?" Well the following morning I
stumbled across a link to my weblog from Dr L. Anne Clyde of The
University of Iceland who has a whole page of LIS weblog resources - see
here:
http://www.hi.is/%7Eanne/weblogs.html
Also if you are interested in browsing my weblog and related weblog
resources see :

All the best and if any of you feel inspired to start your own weblog -
please let me know ...
Regards David

Subject: Curing narcolepsy in Dell laptops
Dear David,
First of all, many thanks for your presentation at the UKOLUG AGM
yesterday. I fear that you may be responsible for an epidemic of blogging
within the group. I foresee a *lot* of fun about to be had by all!
Re our Dell laptops' behaviour of semi-shutting down after prolonged
"idleness", I may have found the answer and I think we have wrongly
accused Dell.
Right click on the desktop, select Properties, click on the Power button
and then the screen saver tab. Two of the time out options have been there
since Win 95 - Turn off monitor and System Stand by. But there is now a
third for laptops - turn off hard disk. On my system it is set to 30
minutes, but it can be set to "Never". I'm off to try it now.
