Leeds University Library is currently advertising for the post of Systems
Team Leader and I thought it worthwhile to make details available to staff
in other Innopac libraries.  

This post is to lead in the development of the Library's IT services where
you will  contribute to the Library's overall strategy and its supporting
policy and service framework and hold management responsibility for the
Systems Team.

You will require dynamism and initiative and be of graduate calibre with a
postgraduate/professional qualification. You will have had substantial
managerial experience in an academic/research library. Your understanding of
the digital library and the HE environment and culture will be excellent. A
proven leader and motivator of staff you will have excellent communication
skills, and a commitment to progressive management practices.

Salary Senior Library 4 (£29,709 - £35,249 p.a.)

Postscript:
I hope that it is acceptable that I add a short personal note about my own
future - since many of you on the list know me quite well.  I have been
successful in applying for another vacancy at Leeds, that of Collection
Management Services Team Leader.  I worked for many years in technical
processes, at both Birmingham and Leeds, and am looking forward to taking up
my new role towards the end of the year.  After that, I shall no longer have
responsibility for our Innopac system as a whole, but I am sure that I shall
remain active on the list, commenting on specific functions.
