I realise that there were discussions in Jan 2000 on the list about
Z39.50 access to COPAC being impossible because it was using
SUTRS or GRS-1, but I was wondering if any further representations
had been made to III on the matter. I am particularly interested
because I want to use the Z39.50 access to the British Library
catalogue, although it would be pleasant to use COPAC as well
(especially now that they have loaded the BL catalogue). I have,
somehow, managed to z39.50 search BL but the records are not
'received' in guicat or milcat which makes it all look tantalisingly
promising. For COPAC searches I just get a 'no connection' message.
Any thoughts?
NB: I note that the z39.50 help topic 'Searching a Z39.50 database' in
Guicat shows the British Library as a target but the BLPC helpdesk
says "Innopac only support MARC - they do not support SUTRS or
GRS1. ... The user needs to contact Innopac and raise the issue with
them."
