Here at Portsmouth we do things the opposite way round from that
which Charlie Hume describes at Manchester. That is, e-journals are
catalogued in TALIS and our OPAC has live links to the titles.
Catalogue records are transferred to our web site
(http://www.libr.port.ac.uk/) by a daily batch process - this caters for
amendments as well as new entries.
The Web site is underpinned by ROADS software and as such offers a
search facility which operates across the site whatever the resource
type, i.e. e-journals, databases, portals etc. Of course, the search is at
resource level and not *within* the resources...Ian Mayfield
