Subject: A piece of ammunition!
Dear colleagues
I received note of the following reference today via the Medical Library Association MLA FOCUS service (which is a fast track information system for members).
The role of medical librarians in reducing medical errors by J Michael Homan, Director of the Mayo Clinic Medical Libraries...
He advocates putting the medical librarian on the patient safety or quality assurance committee; and quotes a reporter for the Houston Chronicle writing about modern libraries..."Everybody thinks nothing has changed since the Dewey Decimal system. Now all that is turned on its head. Librarians are on the cutting edge of society." so there!
