Dear all,
Some recent Copyright information that may/will be of interest.
E-signatures.
After some discussion a way forward has been found to allow the receipt
of electronic declaration forms. Whilst the NHS is not expected to be
at the forefront of copyright innovation, if you can develop a system
of signature authentication then you can be among the first to receive
electronic declaration forms!
Note the BUT - you have to be able to authenticate the signature. The
most likely method is the issuing of an unique identifier (ie: reader
number or PIN number) to a borrower when they register. The number
would then have to be quoted on any requests along with the electronic
signature, and you would have to check the authentication before
actioning the request.
[Beware, authentication numbers should not be sequential and therefore
'guessable']
If you can make it work, I and many others, would be grateful to hear about
it!

With just 4 months left before the EUDirective is applied in the UK, we
have, at last, some information on the implications and a chance to be
involved in consultation.
