Refugee livelihoods
UNHCR's Evaluation and Policy Analysis Unit (EPAU) would be interested to
hear from any researchers or practitioners with an interest in the issue of
refugee and IDP livelihoods.
Working in association with UNHCR's Reintegration and Local Settlement
Section (RLSS), the Strategy and Policy Division of WFP and the Famine
Center at Tufts University, we are hoping to learn more about the
livelihoods strategies and activities of refugees and the ways in which
those strategies can be supported by humanitarian and development agencies
(e.g. through income-generating and microfinance programmes).
EPAU and RLSS are particularly interested in collecting evaluations,
research papers and field reports that will enable us to learn lessons and
identify examples of good practice from previous experience. If there is a
good response to this announcement, we will also try to establish an
informal information-sharing network on the issue of refugee livelihoods.
