Two new EPAU reports: Responding to protracted refugee situations
UNHCR's Evaluation and Policy Analysis Unit invites you to examine two new
case studies on protracted refugee situations. The reports are part of a
series of evaluations looking at protracted situations around the world, and
the various responses to them. The findings of these evaluations are to
feed into a broader UNHCR examination of such situations, and is intended to
assist in the formulation of sounder and more robust policies in this
domain.
Both reports concern Liberian refugees. The first (EPAU/2002/06) concerns
Liberians in Ghana, and has been prepared by Shelly Dick, an independent
researcher. The second (EPAU/2002/07) looks at Liberian refugees in Côte
d'Ivoire, and was undertaken by Tom Kuhlman, an independent economist.
In line with UNHCR's commitment to transparency, and in the interests of
greater accountability, the reports have been placed in the public domain.
