Almost anything by Patricia Highsmith - including Hitchcock's
Strangers on a Train.
I think 20th Century literature as well as films are full of
doppelganger images and characters. As someone mentioned already on
the list, David Lynch's work in general are full of Doppelganger
characters.
Also in mind are the original 'Dirty Harry,' maybe Lang's 'M,' and of
course quite obvious 'Performance' with Mick Jagger and James Fox.
