Tenure Track positions in Film Production
The Faculty of Fine Arts announces two full-time tenure track positions in
Film Production at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning on 1 June
2002.
Application Deadline: 15 February 2002
The successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate and graduate
core production courses covering all aspects of analog and digital film
production, and specialized courses in areas of production. The candidate
will be well versed in the aesthetic, cultural, and technical developments
of contemporary cinematic practice, and be knowledgeable in a range of
genres as they relate to the context of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Requirements include an MA or MFA, or equivalent professional artistic
experience, and an established research record supported by a body of work
and curriculum vitae. All else being equal, preference will be given to
bilingual candidates having teaching experience, administrative skills, and
a commitment to the advancement and operations of the Mel Hoppenheim School
of Cinema.
Short-listed candidates will be expected to present their research and
creative work to an audience of faculty and students.

The Faculty of Fine Arts announces a full-time tenure-track position in
Film Animation at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning on June 1st
2002.

The Animation Program offers both traditional and experimental animation.
As part of the Fine Arts Faculty, it is committed to the exploration of
independent animation as an art form, and actively encourages diversity of
method and technique in traditional as well as new media. In addition to
Film Animation, the School offers programs in Film Studies and Film
Production.
The Animation Program is, therefore, hoping to attract a candidate who is
familiar with a wide range of animation production methods, 2D and/or 3D,
with at least 5 years experience as a filmmaker and some experience
teaching at the post-secondary level. Animation faculty are expected to
teach at the undergraduate level, to perform administrative duties, and to
actively pursue their research as filmmakers.
The successful candidate will possess good communication skills and be able
to work effectively in a bilingual environment.
