remarks about the subjective and objective versions of the dolly
counter-zoom.
Screen images have a kind of objective transparency, like they are just
showing the empirical world that we can all see, and there can sometimes be
something a little forced when their function is to show what is going on in
a characters perception. Maybe this is a reason to be careful not to overuse
the dolly counter-zoom. I think of screen as an empirical rather than a
phenomenological medium. Language is much more phenomenological.
