No. The book by Paul Ricoeur is all about the notion of the self in
philosophy. It goes through the various conceptions and analyzes them very
carefully. It is an amazing book - probably the best on the subject.
Brendan Long had posted a link to some analysis of film which included
_Bladerunner_ as an analysis of the notion of "self." (What does it mean to
be a person?) Here's the link to Brendon's essays. I've not read them all,
but I liked those I did read. I brought up Ricoeur simply because he pushes
the question of self further and in a clearer and more particular way than
most sources. Given the place of "self" in film, I was interested in what
he thought of Ricoeur.
