Pleasantly surprised by the mention of LaBruce in this Salon. Yes, he courts
controversy and his films have shock value, but unlike Tarantino's nihilism
he uses the shock toward cultural commentary. It's interesting therefore
that his films are seen as more obscene than anything Tarantino's done.
