Some interesting examples can be found in:
Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde - 3 different constructions ('20, '32, '41) of disease
The Dentist ('32) - WC Fields parodies dental practice on patients who are
little more than fantasies of sexuality and ethnicity
Drunken Angel ('48) - gangster with TB faces down alcoholic doctor
The Quiet Duel ('49) - wartime physician contracts syphilis from surgery
Red Beard ('65) - epic tale of a doctor's charity hospital where he takes on
an intern and multitude of society's ills
One Flew Over Cuckoo's Nest ('75) - mental patients face down medical
establishment
The Dr. Kildare series (40s on film, 50s on radio) - gives you at least over
50 adventures of a young doctor and his mentor, a tagteam resembling
semi-retired Batman and highly efficient Robin
The Doctor ('91) - physician finds himself striken with cancer
Try also plugging film titles into www.reel.com, which should give you some
related titles in return.
