I remember when Ronald Reagan, in the early stages of Alzheimer's it now
seems, testified about the illegal activities of the White House
security team; Oliver North et al. He said, "I don't remember (or
recall)" to most of the questions. The interesting thing is, the nation
gave a kind of collective sigh of relief, as if having a President who
was not in touch with things was alright. Seems to be happening again.
Christine Todd Whitman, Administrator of EPA, is now saying *she* was
unaware of the global warming report. Seems no-one in the Administration
wants to admit that they knew about it, or even read it for that matter.
Guess that's good news in a strange sort of way; at least if you are on
the conservative side of the spectrum.
