REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ABOUT RESEARCH ON FOOD, FARMING AND LAND MANAGEMENT
EDUCATION
NFER and King's College London are undertaking a government-funded review of
research on school students' learning about food, farming and land
management.
The research team (Mark Rickinson, Justin Dillon, Kelly Teamey and Dawn
Sanders) would appreciate information about research/evaluation published
1960-2002 on:
* school-age pupils' knowledge of, and attitudes towards, food,
farming and the countryside
* school-age pupils' learning about food, farming and land management
in a range of contexts (e.g. farm visits, city farms, school grounds, field
centres, botanical gardens, classroom work etc.).
We are particularly interested in studies that shed light on:
* the impact of such learning experiences on pupils
* how such learning experiences can be delivered effectively and
economically
* the factors that impede or facilitate pupil learning in such
situations.
Our findings will be published as a Government (DfES) Research Report in
late 2003/early 2004.
